SUMMARY The Director, Donor Information Services leads and oversees all Institutional Advancement (IA) systems including gift processing, donor database, major gifts prospect pool, donor research, and gift acceptance policies and procedures. This role is integral in developing and maintaining overall constituent (donor/member) data strategy alongside the IT Manager, Membership and Marketing Departments in an effort to cultivate, grow, and steward the Exploratorium fundraising outreach and donor base. The Director, Donor Information Services also analyzes revenue data to inform each departmental team of their revenue progress and projections for effective data-driven fundraising. This position oversees the Development Services team: the Development Services Manager, Development Assistant, and Development Specialist of Prospect Research. This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and works closely with other Directors in IA and other departments within the museum. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Chief Advancement Officer, lead all aspects of donor and gift data management including tracking, analyzing, and reporting on individual donors, trustees, corporates, foundations, and financial advisors
Strategize with IA Directors to track and report the fundraising revenue progress of each team
Lead the Development Services team: train new members, provide on-going performance feedback, coaching and support, and develop individualized work plans
Oversee the prospect management function for IA, including strategic management of the prospect pipeline, research on prospects, design and implementation of reports, and establishment of data entry policies and procedures
Oversee Salesforce CRM, sync and work closely with the IT department to manage the system for membership and major gifts
Oversee maintenance of a comprehensive accounting and acknowledgment process for all donations to the Exploratorium, including donor records and recognition
Prioritize department data requests and oversee department production calendar through Jira project management tool
Work closely with other department personnel to establish donor recognition policy and maintain recognition standards for annual reports, donor walls, and other areas where donor names are listed
Liaise with Finance Department on meticulous reporting of gifts and pledges; conduct annual revenue recognition and reconciliation with Finance and Accounting departments to ensure accurate gift entry and allocation
Keep informed on current information on giving, especially tax law and other IRS rulings which affect charitable giving

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
8-10 years of successful hands-on experience in the management of development activities including research, prospect tracking, cultivation, and solicitation at large nonprofit organizations
Supervisory experience required
Expert knowledge of Salesforce CRM including data management, reporting and analysis
Highly organized, detail-oriented
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
Excellent communication skills including ability to collaborate effectively with IA Directors and diverse staff throughout the museum
Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and federal guidelines for gift acceptance and recognition
