Ethel’s Fancy is looking for a motivated and seasoned baker/pastry cook to join our team. Ethel’s Fancy is a modern American restaurant in downtown Palo Alto, known for its fun, eclectic, and inventive menu of family style small plates.
We are looking for someone who can work full time, Tuesdays-Saturday(about 8am-4pm). The work hours can be flexible for the right candidate.
This individual should have some English speaking ability.
He/she should have the following qualifications:
At least 2 years in a high volume kitchen environment
Must have experience working with large volume bread production
Experience with pastry and dessert production(tarts, cakes, etc.)
Detail oriented, clean, and organized
Takes direction well and can quickly repeat a task with speed and efficiency
Postiive attitude and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
Reliable and comes to work on time
Can lift at least 40lbs
Self-motivated
Once trained, this person will be responsible for opening the restaurant, and in addition to food preparation, will be responsible for assisting in daily deliveries.
Compensation will be dependent on qualifications, but is highly competitive. We will pay more for a qualified candidate.
We may ask you to spend a paid day in our kitchen to see if it is the right fit for both us and you.
