Advanced Tree Work & Climbing
· Perform advanced tree climbing, rigging, and removals on complex or high-risk jobs.
· Operate chainsaws, rigging systems, and aerial lifts in accordance with ANSI standards.
· Direct and assist with technical rigging setups, crane-assisted removals, and large pruning projects.
· Demonstrate and enforce proper cutting, pruning, and felling techniques.
Crew Leadership & Mentorship
· Act as on-site leader for climbers and ground crew when delegated by the Supervisor.
· Provide training and mentorship to junior climbers and ground staff.
· Lead daily safety briefings and coach crew members in correct work practices.
· Communicate with the Crew Supervisor regarding crew performance and site progress.
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure strict adherence to ANSI Z133 safety standards and OSHA regulations.
· Conduct site hazard assessments before work begins.
· Ensure proper use of PPE, ropes, saddles, and rigging equipment.
· Stop work if unsafe conditions arise and escalate issues promptly.
Quality & Customer Service
· Ensure all tree care work complies with ANSI A300 pruning and removal standards.
· Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
· Interact with clients professionally when approached, escalating formal concerns to the Supervisor.
Equipment Care & Reporting
· Inspect climbing gear, ropes, and rigging equipment daily; report deficiencies.
· Assist in maintaining crew vehicles, chippers, and chainsaws.
· Report equipment issues and material needs to the Crew Supervisor.
