Press Brake & Laser Operator
Serpentix Conveyor is seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake and Laser Operator to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role is responsible for the precise setup and operation of our laser and press brake machines to produce high-quality metal components. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of metal fabrication, reads blueprints fluently, and is committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting and Cincinnati press brake equipment.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine project specifications.
Select and install appropriate tooling and dies for the press brake, and adjust laser cutting parameters based on material type and thickness.
Safely load and unload raw materials, such as metal sheets and plates, onto the laser and press brake machines.
Perform quality control inspections on finished parts using precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet exact tolerances.
Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, cutting irregularities, or other issues that arise during production.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on the machines and surrounding work area to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Maintain accurate documentation of production output, quality checks, and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to optimize production processes and meet deadlines.
Adhere to all safety protocols and company regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
3 years of proven experience operating CNC laser cutting and press brake machines.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Strong understanding of different metals, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, and their specific properties for cutting and forming.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for measuring and adjusting machine settings.
Ability to use and read precision measurement tools.
Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus. Experience with a Cincinnati press brake is helpful but not required.
Proficient computer skills to operate and navigate a Windows Explorer file system and basic Microsoft applications.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift or move materials up to 75 pounds.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
Experience with Cincinnati press brake equipment.
Prior experience with nesting software to maximize material yield.
