Some of the best work in the trades happens when two people who trust each other work side by side. At Just Heat Pumps, we’re looking for a Lead Installer who either:
Already works well with a known helper and installer, or
Wants to build a strong partnership with someone they can mentor.
If you’re the kind of pair that shows up early, leaves the job cleaner than you found it, and cares about doing installs the right way, we want to talk.
WHAT THE LEAD DOES
Plan the install day: truck loadout, site prep, sequence
Delegate inside vs outside installer tasks and keep everyone busy
Handle critical tasks:
Line set routings, brazing/flares, vacuum pulls, final tie-ins
System start-up, commissioning, and homeowner walk-through
Coordinate with our team on:
Electrical (disconnects/panels)
Duct design tweaks and revisions
Inspections & documentation
WHAT THE HELPER / APPRENTICE DOES
Inside / Interior Work:
Move materials, stage tools, protect floors, set up ladders
Assist with ductwork disassembly/assembly and basic sealing
Help hang air handlers and indoor units
Run low-voltage wires under direction
Outside / Exterior Work:
Help place pads, move condensers into position
Mount line set covers, insulate and secure lines
Assist with pulling vacuum and leak checks
We’re not looking for perfection from the helper—we’re looking for attitude, curiosity, and reliability. We’ll train skills.
WHY THIS IS A GREAT MOVE FOR A CREW
At Just Heat Pumps you get:
Specialization in heat pumps – a niche that’s only growing
Clear career path:
Helper → Installer → Lead → Trainer / Field Supervisor
A company that:
Gives you real training and lab time, not just “ride-alongs”
Implements your ideas for better installs and workflows
Is serious about mission: electrification, clean air, and high craftsmanship
Pay (example structure – adjust as needed):
Lead Installer: $36–$48/hour + bonuses
Apprentice / Helper: $22–$28/hour, with defined raises tied to skill milestones (e.g., “can independently build and seal a return plenum,” “can run/terminate LV control wire,” etc.)
