A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or at least four (4) years of experience in a technology support environment.
At least two (2) years of experience working with ticketing system applications.
Preferences:
Certification in one or more of the following: Microsoft Desktop/Server Operating Systems, Networking, Security, Computer Programming, Computer/Information Technology Support
Two (2) years of technical support in a State of Florida agency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This position serves as an analyst within the Desktop Support Section. Responsible for the monitoring and timely completion of End User Support requests.
The incumbent will treat customers, the public and staff with courtesy, respect, and dignity, presenting a positive public image for the Bureau of Departmental Information Systems (BDIS) and the Department.
Provides technical support to Department of State staff including, but not limited to,
Provides technical support for all desktop computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment used by the Department.
Performs diagnostic testing and repairs of desktop computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Configures desktop computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment to meet end user requirements while remaining in compliance with Departmental policies, guidelines, and configuration standards.
Relocates existing computer equipment and assists in the installation and configuration of new computer and/or network equipment, as required.
Assists in developing and maintaining proper documentation for desktop computing resources.
Ensures that all equipment moves/installs are properly documented for Departmental property inventory purposes.
Provides end user training as required.
Assists with installing and testing desktop computer operating system security patches and upgrades.
Assists with creating, modifying, and terminating access to technology resources as directed by the Systems Programming Administrator – SES.
Assists in disaster preparedness and response.
Assists in the completion of inventory audits.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and experience with ticketing system applications, remote support solutions, Microsoft Office 365 user administration, Microsoft Exchange Help Desk role, and Microsoft Active Directory administration.
Knowledge and experience with desktop, laptop and tablet hardware from Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, and HP.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate technical data effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
