Award winning Monkeypod Kitchen Wailea is looking for an Experienced Executive Chef to join our team!
We are well-known to both residents and visitors alike for a spectacular handcrafted experience. We feature locally sourced products, and support organic and sustainable farming, ranching, and fishing practices. We here at Monkeypod Kitchen Wailea take great pride in our restaurant, and enjoy mastering the craft of food drink and Merrimaking with aloha.
Candidates must have solid experience working in chef-driven, high quality venues with a history of demonstrated expertise in cost control with food and labor, consistent product quality, and staff leadership. A solid understanding of all financial and administrative responsibilities is critical. Candidates must ensure proper staffing in adherence to budget numbers, proper scheduling, training, and shift execution. Must possess the ability to teach, coach, encourage, and mentor others. Candidates must be able to handle high volume and stress with finesse, have a positive attitude, be passionate about the concept of craft, possess excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, have the ability to coach and develop employees, and have an eye for detail and a strong commitment to total guest satisfaction.
Applicant Qualifications Include:
- 5 years minimum experience in a kitchen management position
- Culinary school graduate preferred
- Applicant must possess: organizational skills, time management skills, be creative, motivated, punctual, friendly, team player, and have the ability to coach/lead young cooks
- Experience with Excel, ordering, scheduling, costing out items, creating specials, etc. required
- Must have open schedule availability: AM, PM, weekends, and holidays
- High volume experience required
- Fine dining experience preferred
- Butchering experience preferred
