Job Title: Production Worker

Division: Operations / Retail

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Inspects Items for defects and uses assigned standards to determine outcome of item by performing the following duties. Availability to work on weekends is an essential function of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Removes item from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable.

Works at different work stations as production needs require or stocking as needs arises.

Load and unload truck with bins, cages or totes for transport. Loads and unloads outlet tables.

Responsible for safely operating the lift-gate when up-loading and down-loading bins, cages, totes and loose donations.

Coordinates load movements with truck driver and co-workers.

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of various forklifts, tippers, balers and hoppers to empty bins of redemption and trash.

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of trash compactor, tipper, and balers.

Organizes bins, cages, totes effectively utilizing space in/out of the warehouse.

Keeps outside and inside areas clean, neat and organized.

Organize all metal furniture, bale, dump and redemption items in designated areas.

Load 20’ to 40’ containers with bales of textile.

Must be able to communicate effectively with Logistics Manager and Transportation Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of warehouse functions.

Weigh redemption bins from various locations accurately.

Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

There are no education and/or experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read, print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to judge garment quality.

Regular attendance is a requirement of this position. Core hours are between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Sunday, including holidays, to meet the needs of a retail operation. Evening and weekend hours required as needed for the demands of the job. No travel required.
