To thrive in this role, you must have an active CPC or CCS, RHIT, or RHIA coding certificate, relevant work experience in neurology and/or vascular coding.Here’s what you will experience working as a Neurology Coding Associate:
Assign accurate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers) for neurology, vascular, and/or cardiology diagnoses, treatments, and procedures meeting daily quotas with 95% accuracy
Review and clarify physician-assigned diagnosis codes and query physicians for clarification when necessary
Adhere to Standards of Ethical Coding by AHIMA and AAPC
Review and update edits and denials; correct documentation
Communicate with other departments to provide coding guidance
Required Skills:
HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Active CPC or CCS, RHIT, or RHIA with work experience in neurology pro-fee coding
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines including ICD-10 CM, HCPCS, and CPT and E/M coding
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $18.58 - $29.49 per hour .
