Families Forward, member of The Fedcap Group, is looking for a mission-driven, outgoing and professional individual to become a Placement Specialist! This person will build and maintain relationships with employers and non-profits which offer volunteer and/or employment opportunities for program participants. The Placement Specialist role is an integral member of the team and will be based out of our Lewiston, Maine opportunity center location.Position Key Highlights:

This position hours are full-time, during the office hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Position Summary:The Placement Specialist is a member of the Partner Engagement team. This tech savvy, performance driven, high energy Placement Specialist, builds and maintains exemplary relationships with non-profit organizations and employers to create paid, volunteer, and community service placements for our program participants. They will focus on matching skillsets and values with local employment opportunities for their assigned caseloadEssential Job Functions:

Provide employers including non-profits with high-quality and tailored services, by cultivating sustainable relationships which result in on-going volunteer and/or employment opportunities for our participants.

Match our participants with paid, volunteer or/and community service employment opportunities based on their Career Plan, vocational evaluation, TANF work requirements/hours and need for accommodations.

Support participants in developing their skills and confidence in obtaining new sustainable placements, including candidate preparation prior to interview or placement start.

Facilitate On-The-Job (OJT) placements with non-profit and for-profit companies that lead to employment opportunities.

Conduct follow-up calls and visits to ensure that employers, including our non-profit partners, are satisfied with our participants and mediate concerns.

Work with our education team to host hiring events which strategically match our participants with employers.

Conduct research and presents extensive knowledge of the local labor market – in-demand industries, availability of jobs, skills and education requirements, average wages, and potential for career ladder opportunities. Share knowledge and best practice with our stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to grow existing employer partnerships by offering expanded services and/or products.

Maintain and share accurate information on local opportunities that can be utilized by the wider organization to support our participants

Run reports via the Fedcap systems, using data to plan daily and weekly tasks.

Maintain accurate recordkeeping and documents all communication, with participants and employers.

Represent the organization with all stakeholders and in the community positively and professionally.

Actively model our Fedcap values throughout all aspects of their work and interactions with others.

Demonstrate drive to deliver performance in line with key performance indicators and performance targets.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher education and/or equivalent experience in business development, sales or recruitment.

Experience working as a placement specialist in a non-profit environment preferred. 

Demonstrated track record for providing exceptional customer service.

Valid driver's license, required.

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but will be determined by your supervisor.
