Seeking an Platform Engineer with deep network and wireless knowledge and experience, who can multitask and think intuitively. The candidate should be flexible and able to implement time management and project management skills, as well as have strong troubleshooting abilities. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting Capital One Branch and Café network and wireless environments. The position is also responsible for some Branch desktop support, voice support and general IT support. Other responsibilities include using network monitoring tools and utilities for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response. Areas of focus include routing, switching, network security, and Cisco wireless hardware and software. Ability to communicate and foster collaboration in IT and business areas, as well as build relationships with business partners and other support teams is critical. This position may require working weekends occasionally and participating on a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 operations when branches and cafes are open.Responsibilities:
Provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on user questions, problems or malfunctions of Branch and Café networks, hardware, software and wireless equipment
Proactively, identify and address issues utilizing provided tools
Perform daily monitoring, updating and closing of incident tickets
Escalate issues as needed and maintain communication with the customer, technical teams and Vendors within the established service level agreements
Inform management of potential problems and identifies problem trends
Create and maintain support documentation and training materials
Implement new strategies or procedures when required
Assist with Installs, configure and upgrade device hardware and software as needed
Any other duties and special projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
At least 3 years of experience in IT Systems and infrastructure
At least 3 years experience with TCP/IP protocols
At least 3 years of experience with Windows operating systems
At least 3 years of experience with Linux operating systems
At least 3 years of experience in Network Management
At least 3 years of experience in Network Monitoring Tools and Utilities
Preferred Qualifications:
One of the following certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Network +, or Security + 3+ years of experience in Incident, Change, Problem and Configuration Management
2+ years experience in all aspects of Network and Security
1+ years of experience in Fault, Capacity and Performance Management
Demonstrated working experience supporting the following telecommunication technologies: Routers, Switches, DNS, DHCP and Wireless technologies in medium to large enterprise environments
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Excellent team oriented and collaboration
