Automotive Service Technician - Baton Rouge
EVALUATION HIRE
$15-$20/hr based on experience and interview
Monday-Friday 7 am - 5 pm and every 3rd Saturday (half-day)
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is hiring Service Technicians for a local car dealership in East Baton Rouge. Ideal candidates will be hard workers looking for a career in the automotive industry with a customer satisfaction-driven mindset.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Automotive Service Technicians:
Diagnose and repair automotive issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with manufacturer standards.
Collaborate with service advisors to provide customers with clear explanations of repairs and maintenance services.
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and dealership service protocols.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
Other duties include taking out trash, cleaning, stocking and handling.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification preferred but not required.
Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is preferred but not required. TRAINING AVAILABLE.
Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Qualified candidates must have some of the common hand tools required for the job.
