Description We are in search of a dedicated Accounting Specialist for a manufacturing company, located in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. As an integral part of the team, your primary role will be to handle various accounting responsibilities, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll administration. You will also assist with administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the organization.Responsibilities: Handle Accounts Receivable tasks including generating and sending invoices to customers, monitoring customer accounts for overdue payments, recording customer payments in the accounting system, and reconciling the AR ledger to ensure accuracy. Manage Accounts Payable responsibilities such as processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records of vendor accounts, reconciling vendor statements, and resolving discrepancies. Assist with payroll processing tasks, including data entry, verifying time records, calculating deductions, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and provide accurate responses. Perform administrative duties such as answering incoming phone calls, routing them to the appropriate person or department, and assisting with general office tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents. Order office supplies and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that office supplies are always adequately stocked. Coordinate with other departments as needed to support business operations. Utilize Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel to carry out accounting functions efficiently. Process billing functions and check processing in an accurate and timely manner. Operate Plex Manufacturing ERP system in managing various accounting tasks.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Demonstrated experience in various Accounting Functions Detailed understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in Billing Functions Familiarity with Check Processing procedures Proficiency in using Plex Manufacturing ERP Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize work Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
