The candidate must be located within a daily commutable distance or willing to relocate.We are looking for: Sr SCADA Compression TechnicianThe Senior SCADA Compression Technician role provides high level of support and maintenance for the Natural Gas Compression, Gas transmission, Distribution, Storage, and Commercial & Industrial systems. The Senior Compression Technician is the SME for a wide variety of communication systems, functional controls, instrumentation, and measurement components integrated into a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. They will follow all CE safety standards including completing safety tailboards and JSA's and have knowledge of national electrical code and requirements for installations in hazardous environments. The Compression Technician will have cross functional knowledge and ability to support multiple locations across the state. They will perform complex installs, maintains, and troubleshoots electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment for gas compression, gas distribution and transmission systems.The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to:

PLC/DCS Ladder logic computer programming experience

HMI graphics programming experience

RTU(IPM,I/Ocards,etc.)

Networkcommunications-ethernet,RS485,modbus,cellmodems,fiberoptic

Operate and maintain electronic equipment, diagnostic instruments, and software in performance of assigned duties

National electrical code & AGA standards

Maintain Operator qualifications for the role

Mechanical Aptitude

Compressed Air Systems experience, Heater and boiler experience and Valve and Actuator repair experience

Analyzeandtroubleshootcomplexnaturalgasprocesses,controlsystems,hardwiredsystems,&enddevices

GasCompression,Metering&Regulation, Distribution,Transmission,&StorageFieldexperience

Proficient with SAP and MS Office programs

Associate degree in a scientific or technical field with four (4) or more years of applicable experience

[OR] High School Diploma with eight (8) or more years of applicable experience

Nice to have:

PLC programming experience

Allen Bradely PLC programming experience

Compressed Air Systems experience

Electrical certification or license

Electronic and ladder logic computer programming

Gas regulation and distribution field experience

Heater and boiler experience

SIXNET experience

Valve and actuator repair experience

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Plan, perform, and document periodic MGSS (Michigan Gas Safety Standards) Code Work orders; complete SOX (Witnessing) Inspections, along with performing required complex testing in accordance with maintenance programs within Gas Operations to maintain compliance with MPSC regulations

Operate and analyze complex natural gas processes, control systems, hardwired systems and end devices along with providing programming expertise required to maintain a typical compressor station, Transmission valve site, Distribution metering system

Analyze, diagnose, design tests, and provide a recommended solution by means of troubleshooting

Lead job planning, drawing reviews, making design decisions, completion of required systems documentation, perform system checkout functions, lead point to point verification and provide technical assistance as required to support the completion of construction projects while functioning alone or while leading project teams

Lead & mentor employees and/or lead the work of project teams; documents knowledge transfer to aid in succession planning process; embraces coaching and mentoring of new employees; practices good time management and planning

May fill in as temporary technician supervisor

Consult with vendors, manufactures, contractors, operators, engineering & other SME's to provide technical expertise on higher complex issues

Review and interpret drawings, vendor manuals, and procedures for the purposes of installing, troubleshooting, & maintaining equipment

Operate and maintain complex electronic equipment, diagnostic instruments, and software in performance of assigned duties
