SummaryThe Student Engineering Technician Intern III will conduct tests, equipment setup, equipment operations, experiments, monitoring, chemical processing, and measuring. Duties and Responsibilities
Makes setup of testing and mechanical support equipment, monitoring and measuring instruments and other apparatus and performs a wide variety of testing of materials, such as breadboard circuitry, prototype units, production units, and electronic circuity.
Builds prototypes for testing and experimentation and makes samples for further analysis.
Conducts tests and experiments with new materials, equipment, and processes to develop data for specification call-out or to determine suitability of a material for particular applications.
Performs post-mortem analyses to determine exact reasons for failure.
Drafts procedures and records laboratory notes and other pertinent details.
Makes sketches and marks up drawings as needed to show changes as they occur.
Records laboratory notes and other details, as specified by engineering personnel.
Improves and refines existing fixtures, devices, methods, process steps or procedures, implementing changes as necessary, you will have the opportunity to make a difference.
Uses all equipment, techniques, and tools necessary to completion of the task.
You Must Have
Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship for 1+ years
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
