Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Trucking Dispatcher to join our team. As a Trucking Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining communication with drivers and customers.
Responsibilities:
Hiring Drivers: Recruit and onboard qualified drivers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Pre-Employment Requirements: Coordinate pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
Load Management: Utilize load boards and other resources to find suitable freight loads and match them with available drivers.
Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively seeking new business opportunities.
Dispatch Operations: Efficiently dispatch drivers, manage routes, and provide support to drivers throughout their trips.
Documentation: Ensure accurate record-keeping of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery schedules, and customer communications.
Compliance: Monitor driver compliance with DOT regulations and company policies to maintain safety standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Trucking Dispatcher or similar role within the transportation industry.
Familiarity with load boards and dispatch software (e.g., DAT Load Boards, TruckMate, TMW).
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in logistics or dispatching is a plus.
