Position Summary
The Line Cook / Burger Chef plays a key role in delivering The Local’s signature flavor and consistency. You’ll be responsible for preparing menu items to spec, maintaining a clean and organized station, and keeping up with the fast pace during peak hours. Key Responsibilities
Prepare burgers, chicken, fries, and other menu items according to recipes and standards.
Cook proteins to correct temperature and ensure consistent quality and presentation.
Operate grill, fryer, and prep stations safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures (ServSafe standards preferred).
Assist with prep work—chopping, portioning, labeling, and storing ingredients.
Communicate clearly with the front-of-house team to ensure fast, accurate orders.
Support teammates during rushes to keep service smooth and timely.
Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a line cook, grill cook, or short-order cook preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency under pressure.
Knowledge of kitchen safety, temperature control, and food handling standards.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
