For over a decade now, ReUse Action (www.reuseaction.com) has been reclaiming lumber and building materials and selling these materials to the public. We are hoping to identify a candidate to support our store leadership team. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail environments, experience with building materials, and a desire to support our mission of supporting reuse/reclamation of building materials. It is likely that the preferred candidate would begin in an assistant role, potentially transitioning to a store manager role in the future.
Though the store is currently only open 3 days week, it is fully expected that this position will be 35-40 hours/week. We would like to expand our store hours, but that is completely dependent on securing the right manager and staff to meet the increased hours. In addition to managing the daily functioning of the store and supervising store staff, the store manager will support our screening and acquisition process for incoming materials, work on improving store systems, and direct efforts to maintain our website/online sales postings.
A very basic expectation of this position is that the manager has a thorough understanding of building materials. It is not uncommon that our customers ask questions related to materials and installation. We are also a service that helps customers connect with contractors, home related services, and fabrication of furniture/finishes utilizing reclaimed materials.
The successful candidate would be joining an experienced team of staff that have a lengthy tenure with our company. We have a depth of knowledge and experience that we have accrued over the years and we are excited to expand our knowledge base with a new staff member. We attribute the success of our company to the ownership, experience, and leadership of our current employees. Every team member brings a diverse set of skills and experiences to strengthen the team and we are eager to find another passionate contributor.
