Job Description:
A well-established property management company in New York City is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to join our Accounting Department. The position works directly under the Controller and alongside two other bookkeepers in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling multiple accounts within a property management portfolio.
Responsibilities:
-Process and scan invoices into Leasehold (real estate management software)
-Prepare and issue checks for monthly invoices approved by managing agents (Accounts Payable)
-Scan checks to ClickPay using a bank scanner (Accounts Receivable)
-Upload payment files from ClickPay and Lockbox into Leasehold
-Answer tenant phone calls and assist with payment inquiries and history
-Consolidate monthly financial statements for clients
Qualifications:
-Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred (real estate or property management background a plus)
-Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Leasehold and ClickPay is helpful but not required
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Ability to communicate professionally with tenants and internal staff
-Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
