Cascade Fence and Deck

We know that without great people, we can't be a great company. We want to hire people that are eager to grow and advance in their career, and we believe this is a great opportunity to get into a company that invests in making sure that will happen for you. It doesn't necessarily matter if you have experience or not, we're trying to find people who fit in and are hungry to learn. We'll teach you on what you'll need to know. We’re constantly expanding our business and our most recent growth has been a fully operational lumberyard here in Vancouver and another location in Lacey, WA.

We can pitch some crap, we have each other’s backs, and we need just some more like-minded people to join the team. Our company highly values the culture and we work hard to make sure everyone loves their job. We're super flexible with time off and we make sure you have plenty of time for your family. We work hard, and we make it a good time.

The Role:

A CFD Project Estimator’s main objective is to make sure the customer’s expectations are exceeded from the get-go. This is someone who can meet with homeowners to help plan and dream out their outdoor living needs. They will be responsible for bringing the customers vision to life by walking them through options for their space, including project estimates and personalized design possibilities. They will do everything in their power to set the rest of the CFD crew up for success. They are support for the customer when they need someone they can trust.

Objective: Provide the information and pricing needed, to the homeowner, so they can make an informed decision about who they want to build their outdoor living project.

In this role you will:

Have a good relationship with everyone at CFD and your customers.

Work with the customer to really get to know the project and vision for it.

Take the idea and info from the customer and provide a personalized design and cost estimate.

Be responsible for achieving specific sales goals and objectives.

Be able to “be there” for customers/others at CFD on evenings/weekends regarding the project or schedule. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it can occasionally.

In this role you must:

Lighten Up- Our attitude is a choice we make. Be an energy boost, not an energy suck. We are serious about results, but we can take a joke.

Find a Way– Focus on finding the solution, not the problem. Let’s find a way to make it better, we’re here to help. When others are ‘finding a way’ I support them. I am determined to find a way, nothing is impossible.

Put the Team First– I am ready, willing, and able to support the team – no matter what lies ahead. I take responsibility for my mistakes and understand it impacts the entire team. I do my job with the intent to make the next person’s life easier.

Have great communication skills – being in touch with the entire team is critical.

Understand people – we’re talking about building relationships and influencing others here.

See the bigger picture – while taking care of the details are crucial, managing the bigger picture is just as important.

Your success will be measured by:

How your customers feel at the END of a project

Close Rate Percentage

Total Sold

Errors in Contracts Sold

GPH (gross profit per hour) on jobs

Why might you NOT like this position?

Alright, so we spend 40+ hours a week at work so we strongly believe that each person must love their job here at CFD. So, when we’re recruiting, we screen for folks who we think will enjoy the job. Here’s a few “realities” of this position:

High stress – you are ultimately responsible for providing work to everyone else at CFD

High pressure – customers and CFD rely on your work being done.

Dealing with unhappy customers at times

Interrupted frequently throughout the day.

Driving a lot between appointments

Pressure to hit sales goals/objectives.

Compensation

This is a salary position, NOT a commission-based position. We would rather our estimators spend their time actually listening to our clients and solving their pain-points, rather than worrying about ‘the sale.’

For this position, we have $60,000 - $100,000 budgeted but we make offers on a case-by-case basis. We are fully willing to pay more depending on the volume of sales that somebody brings in.

We also have a huge benefits and perks package as well, check out our website for all the details (they’re pretty awesome)!

Benefits

Full Health, Dental, and Vision insurance for you, your spouse, your kids, and the whole nine yards! FREE

Flexible time-off policy for your vacations

Company vehicle provided

All the main holidays are paid, off.

All the other good stuff you can expect from a people first company.

Minimum Requirements

B2C sales experience is strongly preferred.

General Knowledge of construction terminology and methodology

Computer skills/knowledge (CRM, Microsoft Suite, Word, etc.)

So, you’re still interested?

Sweet! If you’re fired up to work on a team WHO CARES and part of a company who will take care of you, hit us up. We review every single application that comes in, so we’d love to see yours.

P.S. If you got this far and read this entire job description, we already like you. Making a career move is a big decision, so we want you to know everything there is to know before even talking to us.

P.S.S. If you REALLY want us to take a good look at you, send us a link to a video of yourself explaining why you'd like to work here and what you'd like to gain from working with us.
