The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville is seeking a highly motivated Chaplaincy Program Director to join and oversee our Chaplaincy Department. This position directs the administration of a comprehensive and interfaith religious services program within the Religious Services Department (RSD) at the institution. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Chaplaincy Program Director for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the administration of religious activities and supervision of the chaplaincy department. You will also be responsible to serve inmates of all faiths in addition to administering faith-appropriate sacraments, rites, and ceremonies for inmates who identity with your faith tradition. In addition, you will conduct faith-specific primary religious gatherings for inmates who share your broad faith tradition and supervise similar accommodations for inmates of other faiths. You will also conduct rounds to inmates in all areas of the facility, as well as conduct spiritual and grief counseling for any interested inmate regardless of the inmate’s spiritual or religious beliefs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Chaplain (Commonwealth title); or
Three years of professional pastoral experience that includes one year in an institutional or specialized setting and a bachelor’s degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional pastoral experience in an institutional or specialized setting.
Special Requirements:
All candidates are required, at the time of application, to provide documentation from an officially sanctioned faith group dated within one year of the application date stating they are officially sanctioned or authorized to conduct worship/sacred services, and specifying which sacraments, rites, ceremonies, or rituals they are authorized to perform as a religious leader.
All employees in the Department of Corrections must complete the Correctional Chaplains Training Course within six months of hire.
All employees in the Department of Corrections must maintain their credentials with an officially sanctioned faith group on an annual basis for the duration of employment.
This position in the Department of Corrections requires one unit of clinical pastoral education or an equivalent specialized training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
