Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

o Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

o Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

2. Accounting Management:

o Oversee the accounting department, including supervising and mentoring staff.

o Manage general ledger activities, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close processes.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

o Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, including financial forecasts and variance analysis.

o Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

4. Compliance and Controls:

o Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

o Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.

5. Audit and Tax:

o Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.

o Oversee tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns and coordination with tax advisors.

6. Financial Planning and Analysis:

o Analyze financial performance and trends, providing actionable insights to improve profitability and efficiency.

o Support strategic planning and financial modeling to drive business growth and operational effectiveness.

7. Process Improvement:

o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.

o Leverage technology to streamline accounting processes and reporting.

8. Team Leadership:

o Lead, train, and develop accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.

o Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the finance team.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

o CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred.

2. Experience:

o Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

o Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

3. Skills:

o Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

o Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

4. Attributes:

o Strong leadership and team management abilities.

o High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.

o Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

Work Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional requirements for remote work.

Physical Requirements: Mostly sedentary work with occasional lifting of documents or files.

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 per year depending on experience
