In this role, the selected individual will be responsible for analyzing project needs, compiling accurate cost estimates for material and equipment, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with the Sales team to ensure the timely completion of each project to meet predetermined bid deadlines. Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, labor and other construction-related activities to facilitate Account Managers in bidding on projects or determining project pricing.

Utilize plans, specifications, and comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry to analyze project requirements and compile precise cost estimates.

Select and price appropriate equipment in accordance with project plans and specifications.

Perform take-offs and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy in quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and other specifications.

Develop detailed preliminary and final proposals, encompassing scope definition, exceptions, and exclusions.

Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk factors across various projects.

Provide support to the sales and fulfillment team in developing equipment submittals as needed.

Maintain a competitive edge by keeping abreast of industry trends and innovations.

Optimize job costs by skillfully negotiating prices with vendors/subcontractors and obtaining competitive quotations for materials and services.

Secure discounts from Trane corporate and accurately record them in Worksight.

Thoroughly document all work by meticulously maintaining files for each project.

Obtains and validates vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Organize and lead pre-bid meetings, implementing any necessary adjustments as required.

May be solely responsible for managing specific in-house accounts.

Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and weekends as dictated by project demands.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Knowledge of construction industry practices and materials.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately estimate costs.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in relevant software for cost estimation and project management.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience in conducting pre-bid meetings and negotiating with vendors/subcontractors is preferred.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, engineering technology, or a related field; or a minimum of five years of experience in estimating, engineering, or construction management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of Trane HVAC equipment preferred.
