Description Job Title: Assistant ControllerLocation: The Woodlands, TexasEmployment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid Schedule)Company Overview:Our client, a rapidly expanding company in The Woodlands, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their growing team. This newly created position is a result of the company’s continued success and expansion. Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

Collaborate closely with operational leaders to align financial reporting with business performance and operational goals.

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and fostering professional development.

Prepare and review SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, and other required reports), if applicable.

Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and assist with ERP system implementation projects.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.

Support audits, including liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

Work Schedule:

Hybrid: Four days in-office and one day remote when not in close.

In-Office: Five days per week during the monthly close process.

CPA certification required.

5+ years of leadership experience in accounting or finance.

Strong understanding of US GAAP and its practical application.

SEC reporting experience is highly preferred.

Proven experience partnering with operations, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.

Experience with ERP systems is required; ERP implementation experience is strongly preferred.

Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
