Review the position below and apply today.Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position.This position does not offer relocation assistance.Job SummaryThis developmental role learns to provide technical and field support in at least one of the following Electric Transmission Construction areas:-Substation Site Prep/Grading -Transmission Line/Foundation Construction -Construction Forestry/Clearing -Access/Erosion & Sediment Controls/Rehabilitation -Substation Electrical ConstructionSupport may include analyzing and evaluating technical documentation, equipment, process improvements, field conditions and other programs for assurance that construction work is performed in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and/or requirements. Normally, works under the close direction of company construction work leader. Develops skills and knowledge necessary to exercise judgment in modifying the detail of work being performed to accommodate field conditions. May make initial contact with customers and maintain communications when performing work on private property.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceElectric Transmission Construction Specialist I0-2 years related experience with a preferred Associate Degree (Or 2+ years related experience with a High School or equivalent degree) Basic knowledge of operation, maintenance and technical construction applications, Basic knowledge of contract administration and OSHA safety standards Ability to learn to apply engineering and construction theories and concepts to complex problems, Ability to learn to interpret codes, regulations and practices, Good oral and written communication skills, Good decision making skills, Good Computer skills and knowledge, including an ability to use Microsoft Office programs as well as ability to learn customized software applications Basic analytical, problem solving and abstract thinking skills, Ability to learn technical writing skills, Good planning, organizational, and project management skills, Ability to work in a team environment under a team lead concept, Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at multiple locations, Ability to interact with the public.Electric Transmission Construction Specialist II3+ years directly related experience with a preferred Associate Degree (Or 5+ years related experience with a High School or equivalent degree)Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications Strong knowledge in multiple construction specializations, Strong knowledge of operation, maintenance and technical construction applications, Good knowledge of contract administration and OSHA safety standards, Ability to apply engineering and construction theories and concepts to complex problems, Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices, Good oral and written communication skills, Good decision making skills, Good Computer skills and knowledge, including an ability to use Microsoft Office programs as well as ability to learn customized software applications, Strong analytical, problem solving and abstract thinking skills, Good technical writing skills Good planning, organizational, and project management skills Ability to work in a team environment under a team lead concept Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at multiple locations Ability to interact with the public.Education RequirementsEducation Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate, Other Education: Environmental Science, Construction ManagementLicenses, Certifications, or Quals DescriptionAssociated certifications preferred: International Arborist, State and Federal Certifications for Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Responsible Land Disturber, Construction Management or Project Management.Working ConditionsCold 76-100%Energized Wires 76-100%Fumes 76-100%Heat 76-100%Loud Noise 76-100%Office Work Environment Up to 25%Operating Machinery 76-100%Outdoors 76-100%Radiation 76-100%Other Working ConditionsTest DescriptionNo Testing RequiredExport ControlCertain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
