SML Packaging Solutions is looking for a skilled and motivated Full-Time Machinist to join our team. If you have a strong machining background and a passion for precision work, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and technical procedures.
Perform calculations to determine precise setups and layouts for machining operations.
Select appropriate tooling, feeds/speeds, lubricants, and fixtures based on job requirements.
Operate manual and CNC machinery, making adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and productivity.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform over-inspections of work completed by other machinists, in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor machine performance and assist with routine maintenance and repairs.
Collaborate with engineering staff to improve procedures, revise drawings, and determine optimal setups.
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records of all work performed.
Utilize a variety of hand tools, measuring equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Strong understanding of machining principles and safe work practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
