LIVE-IN DIRECT CARE STAFF – JOB AID
Schedule: Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 AM (Live-In)
Rate: $165 per day
Home for Aged/ disabled Adults
1. POSITION SUMMARY
The Live-In Direct Care Staff provides supportive living assistance, household management, meal preparation, and companionship to residents who are high-functioning adults. Staff must remain on-site during the entire shift (Monday–Friday) and ensure the home is clean, safe, and engaging.
2. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a clean criminal background check
Must be able to safely lift, bend, and perform household tasks
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Must demonstrate professionalism, patience, and reliability
3. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Personal Support & Resident Engagement
Greet residents each morning and check in for daily needs
Provide reminders and prompts for hygiene, meals, and routines
Encourage residents to participate in social and recreational activities
Engage residents in conversation, games, community activities, and companionship
Monitor for any changes in behavior, mood, or health and report to supervisor
B. Household Cleaning (In-Depth)
Perform deep cleaning and light housekeeping throughout the week, including:
Sweep and mop all common areas
Dust surfaces, sanitize tables, countertops, and high-touch areas
Clean bathrooms daily: toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, floors
Clean resident rooms as assigned (with respect to privacy)
Take out trash and recycling
Maintain organized, clutter-free living spaces
Weekly deep-clean tasks: baseboards, pantry organization, fridge clean-out, etc.
C. Cooking & Meal Service
Staff must prepare three meals per day according to the weekly menu and dietary needs:
Breakfast – served between 9:00 AM
Lunch – served between 1:00 PM
Dinner – served between 6:00 PM
Additional responsibilities:
Maintain clean kitchen, wash dishes, sanitize surfaces
Label and store leftovers safely
Follow safe-food-handling procedures
D. Linen Service
Change and wash resident bed linens weekly or as needed
Wash/dry/fold towels and bedding
Maintain linen closet organization
Ensure clean linens are always available
E. Safety & Documentation
Complete daily logs and shift notes accurately
Report all incidents, concerns, or maintenance needs immediately
Follow emergency procedures and safety rules
Ensure doors are locked, alarms functioning, and environment is hazard-free
4. EXPECTATIONS & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive attitude
Protect the privacy, dignity, and rights of all residents
No unauthorized guests or leaving the home during scheduled shift
Follow all company policies and state regulations
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
5. COMPENSATION
$165 per day
Monday 7AM – Friday 7AM (Live-In)
Meals provided during shift
Private sleeping area during overnight hours (when residents are asleep and needs are minimal)
