Engineering Tech II - (Package/Basing) (REF2557K)

Primarily responsible for assistance in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for manufacturing of night vision components.  A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment.  Have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Six-Sigma tools to benefit the organization and customers.  Additionally, the candidate will be versed in Lean tools and their application to reduce waste.  This is a hands-on technician position. The individual can expect to spend >90% of their time engaging directly with the factory teams on the shop floor to be most effective.  Responsibilities will include:Review/ disposition of night vision componentsTraining of production employeesLeading  or participating in projects to: increase yield, increase productivity, reduce waste, improve work processes, and improve product performance quality.Working with area engineers and manager to optimize yields and throughputParticipating in and promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies.Other tasks as assigned
