Review the position below and apply today.At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer or sponsor a work visa or employment authorization for this position.This position does not offer relocation assistance.Job SummaryInspects, tests, troubleshoots and repairs electrical circuits and electronic equipment under the guidance and direction of an experienced electrician or supervisor.Performs standardized duties and tasks using hand tools and testing instruments.Isolates defects in wiring, switches, monitors and other electrical equipment using testing instrument such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter etc.Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems.May dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective parts and related fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.Respects and works safely around power plant equipment to safeguard personnel and equipment. Maintains a neat, clean shop and work area to enhance the working environment.Perform other duties as requested or assigned.Individual will be part of the emergency response organization and some travel (for periods of up to a month or more) may be required to support other station outages.Must obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access.This is a Local 50 union represented position with a starting pay rate of $23.95 per hour.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceRequired Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of electrical work in an industrial setting and experience working with basic hand tools.
Electrical trade school or prior military experience.
Other qualifications:
Working knowledge of AC and DC circuitry as well as equipment grounding requirements.
Demonstrated use of electrical repair procedures and blueprint circuit understanding.
Good oral communication skills.
Applies basic skills and works on developing advance skills using tools and equipment.
Ability to resolve routine questions and problems, referring more complex issues to more experienced personnel.
Ability to follow standard written and oral instruction.
