Mt Baker Products, established in 1949, has a proud national reputation for custom quality decorative plywood. Our responsibly produced panels are used for architectural grade interior design and furniture in homes and commercial projects across the country.
We are pleased to announce a career opportunity at our location on the waterfront in Bellingham, Washington. The Accounting Clerk will perform a variety of accounting, administrative and clerical tasks, including processing accounts payable, preparing key production reports, providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and with our company’s general administrative activities.
Work Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable invoices, including matching information to purchase orders and receiving documents
Process weekly payments (checks/ACH/wires)
Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and variances
Assist in the preparation of daily production reports
Assist with month-end accounts payable journal entries and reports
Provide backup support for processing sales invoices
Answer and direct phone calls
Provide general support to visitors
Order and maintain adequate levels of office supplies
Update and maintain office policies and procedures associated with position
Additional accounting and administrative tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications:
HS/GED required. Bachelor's or associate's degree or related coursework desired.
Prior experience in a similar role that included accounts payable processing, is highly preferred, such as accounting assistant or bookkeeper.
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, in particular)
Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and scanners
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in-person, on the phone, and online
Ability to accept new assignments and special projects.
