Vacancy caducado!
Are you a baker, pastry chef and/or dessert cook with experience leading a team in a busy kitchen, proud of the food you make, and looking to expand your range of skills and experience? If so, we should talk!
Bakery Nouveau is looking for a production manager for our Burien location.
Our current manager is planning the next steps in her career, and wants to leave her team in good hands. Our production team includes bread, Vienoisserie, bake, savory and dessert stations. As production manager, you'll be supervising those stations while also working alongside your team.
We value extensive cross training and managers being able to fill in on a variety of stations, so you'll start out with your primary skill set while learning our products, and then cross train on other stations to develop or polish additional skills.
In addition to production work, there will also be some office time, including scheduling, developing productions lists, ordering supplies and ingredients, communicating with Chef Leaman and the managers at the other locations, and working with our HR service for any employee needs or coaching.
Some other qualifications or attributes we value:
- Time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills, especially for collaborating with the cafe managers.
- Solid food safety knowledge.
- A working knowledge of software, such as Excel and reporting in point-of-sale systems.
- Experience in high volume production, as we can get quite busy, especially leading into various holidays.
- An enjoyment of good food, both varieties similar to what we make, and also more broadly.
As the production manager does spend most of their time on the floor, you will be around ovens, mixers, sheeters and other bakery equipment, lifting and/or carrying anything from lightweight small wares up to 50 lb bags of flour, and doing a lot of work by hand.
The manager generally has a regular schedule of 40 hours with some overtime possible. Occasional flexibility is expected, such as to cover a station or leading into a holiday. Currently Tuesday to Saturday or Wednesday to Sunday with start time determined by the primary station, for example a dessert or bread station can start between 5 and 7 am.
We value long term employment and offer a range of benefits:
- Paid vacation and sick time.
- A 401K with match after a year's employment.
- Health insurance through Regence (we cover 80%),
- Dental, and Vision insurance through Delta Dental and VSP (we cover 70% and 50% respectively).
- Discounts on employee purchases.
- Pre-tax spending benefits, including commuter and parking, and H-FSAs.
If you are an experienced baker, pastry or dessert chef, and enjoy leading a team making great food , we should chat. When responding, please add Burien Production to the subject line.
