A dairy farmer position available for immediate hire.
Mountain Lodge Farm is a Grade A goat dairy located in Eatonville, Washington and is looking to hire a fulltime employee. Our current herd includes goats, sheep, llamas, and guard dogs.
Skills desired: A love of animals is required, farm experience preferred. This position may include farmer's market on weekends, so retail experience a plus. Job requires good observation skills, attention to detail, flexibility, strenuous physical work including ability to lift 40 pounds. Applicant must be honest, reliable, have a good work ethic, positive attitude and be willing to collaborate as part of the farm team. Applicant must have a clean driving record. Applicant must be fluent in English with good communication skills. Reliable transportation is essential.
Job description: This is a FULLTIME position, 40 hours per week. TWO CONTIGUOUS DAYS OFF PER WEEK, not typically the weekends. Work schedule, days off, and shift is based on farm needs.
You will be fully trained and supervised in a variety of activities including: livestock management, dairy and milk parlor operations, creamery and barn sanitation, general farm maintenance and operations, manning farmer's market booth. Work conditions vary; you may be part of a multiple person team one day and another day take on a project alone, once trained.
