The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team and be able to work independently.The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in both the field and office settings. The field activities will consist of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, geological soil logging and interpretation, and the oversight of subcontractors including laboratories, earth work and drilling partners. The office activities will involve work scoping, preparation of investigation reports and management of data, and assisting the project team in responding to client and oversight agency inquiries. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater and sediment sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, monitoring well design and installation, and aquifer testing.Task management and team leader for field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater and sediment sample collection, geological logging and interpretation.Assisting with gathering and analyzing geological and hydrogeological data in both the field and office settings.Assisting in preparation of written reports, work plans, remedial action plans, site investigation reports (text, tables, figures and calculations), site closure requests, site management plans, technical memorandums and analysis of data and development of supported conclusions.Performing independent hands-on fieldwork, oversee contractors (drillers, surveyors, earth work), and other field personnel, and interacting with clients/client representatives.Utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to evaluate compliance.Assisting with landfill compliance monitoring, including reporting of groundwater and landfill gas remedial systems performance and monitoring data.Assisting in the preparation of Health and Safety Plans and hazard recognition during field assignments.Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
