The purpose of the Reliability Technician’s position is to lead the site’s reliability process by ensuring consistent compliance with maintenance schedules and methodologies, implementing improved practices and procedures, and the applying best practices to the preventive/predictive maintenance programs.  The position will collaborate closely with the production, mechanical maintenance, and electrical maintenance departments.Develop and implement short and long-term continuous improvement strategies related to plant reliability.Provide troubleshooting and problem solving support to the maintenance teamProvide justification and assist in the purchase of critical spare partsAssist CMMS Engineer in estimating man hours and materials needed for maintenance and repairs activitiesConduct thermal imaging, vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, and other proactive tasks to promote a predictive maintenance programDevelop SOPs for maintenance tasks relative to process reliability.Assist in developing PM and PDM tasks to reflect the results of reliability activities.Assist in developing and implementing a reliability program for the MDF and PB plantsPerform daily vibration analysis on electrical and mechanical equipmentPerform daily thermography analysis on electrical and mechanical equipmentDevelop/maintain a thermography inspection catalog with the purpose of long term trending mechanical and electrical equipmentDevelop/maintain a vibration inspection catalog with the purpose of long term trending mechanical and electrical equipmentPerform downtime analysis to determine root causes of unscheduled stoppagesGather and analyze reliability data from the production floor and data bases and apply statistical analysis, engineering techniques and reliability practices to interpret this data.Conduct scheduled audits to ensure compliance with SOPsWork closely with Technical Audit teams and provide follow-up and communication on findingsProvide detailed cost / savings analysis relative to process improvement projects.Plan and perform engineering research, design development, and process engineering assignmentsMake recommendations on cost savings initiatives to senior management
