Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Birmingham, Alabama. The role is primarily situated in the financial industry, focusing on processing, maintaining, and reconciling accounts. The recruited candidate will be an integral part of our team, ensuring smooth financial operations and accurate record-keeping.Responsibilities: Accurately process invoices received from vendors through the Accounts Payable system Efficiently maintain and update customer credit records Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and effective manner Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary Reconcile accounts to ensure all financial data is accurate Utilize Epicor software for efficient accounts payable management Collaborate with the team to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly Ensure all financial transactions are in compliance with financial policies and regulations Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve any financial discrepancies Continuously improve payment processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and practices Demonstrable experience in Account Reconciliation Familiarity with Epicor software or similar financial software Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Solid understanding of basic accounting principles Ability to work independently and as part of a team High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Prior experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.
