DescriptionLeidos Dyneticsis seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join a diverse team in Huntsville, AL to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes related to multi-axis machining, welding and fabrication, and assembly for complex aerospace and defense hardware. The candidate will utilize their technical expertise to work within the team to develop and implement those processes to meet engineering requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer will be required to take ownership of these processes from program conception to completion.Primary Responsibilities

Develop technical solutions to complex problems using a data driven approach.

Create and maintain manufacturing BOMs in ERP and MES systems.

Analyze engineering drawings and required specifications to develop process flow to meet requirements.

Work with CNC programmers and machinists to develop manufacturing processes, including detailed work instructions, manufacturing sketches/drawings and other shop floor documentation.

Assist in developing manufacturing and assembly fixturing and tooling.

Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

Work with quality engineering and manufacturing groups to utilize root cause analysis and corrective action plans to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.

Work with vendors to determine product specifications.

Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods to provide solutions that positively affect cost, operator safety, productivity, and quality.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university and have minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of degree candidate must have a minimum of 16 years of experience in a manufacturing facility as a CNC programmer/machinist, manufacturing engineer, or equivalent role.

Candidate will be required to read and understand engineering drawings.

Candidate must be able to interpret and apply GD&T principles.

Candidate must be capable of performing and communicating in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville or north Alabama area.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred QualificationsPreference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

Solidworks

NX CAD/CAM

Tooling and fixturing design

Renishaw CNC machine probing and inspection

CNC macro programming

Aerospace and defense assembly techniques

Lean manufacturing principles and applications
