The Table Attendant serves meals and drinks to guests while maintaining a clean and attractive station. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders for meals or beverages, and ensuring compliance with all liquor laws and rules when serving alcoholic beverages. The Table Attendant ensures accurate billing by properly charging customers for food and beverage items, recording transactions, and providing correct receipts. They are also responsible for tallying and submitting daily receipts and collecting payments following established procedures. Additional duties include side work, such as stocking stations with necessary supplies (e.g., condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishware), assisting with seating guests, and issuing menus. The Table Attendant is expected to professionally represent the hotel and contribute to creating a welcoming and positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

o Coordinate with Food & Beverage Director regarding Preferred Hotel Standards

o Coordinate with Restaurant-Bar manager regarding assigned duties

o Coordinate with Accounting regarding cash accountability and any other related questions

o Coordinate with cooks for special orders, description, and the presentation of food items of the day/evening to guests

o Provide exceptional service to guest throughout the entire meal, making their dining experience a pleasant and outstanding one

o Efficiently take guest’s order in a timely manner, including all modifications and/or allergies/dietary restrictions they may have

o Proficient in upselling appetizers, soups, salads, specials

o After seating, offer guest beverages and upsell premium beverages

o If beverages are ¾ empty, ask if they would like a refill/another

o Water refilled continually

o Memorizing daily specials

o Explain specials using descriptive and appetizing terms

o Supervise bus persons who assist in service of foods and clearing/cleaning of tables

o Check table to assure they are cleaned to hotel standards

o Setting up tables (napkins, silverware, plates, etc.)

o Replenishing supplies and ensuring that the workstations are clean

o Servicing guests with incidentals such as water, coffee, tea and butter

o Cleaning and emptying trash cans

o Assist guest in seating, greeting and providing menus

o Present check within 5 minutes after delivery of final course in a courteous and prompt manner

o After guests’ departure, clear dishes from table and reset according to opening duties standards

o Thank guests by name for their patronage after every dining experience

o Open and closing side work as stated in the Preferred Standards

o Physically fit and capable of lifting 20lbs to 30lbs

o Physical ability to work various 8-hour workdays standing for their entirety

o Other duties as directed

Minimum Education

o High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience

o Prefer 1-year table attendant experience in a restaurant

o TAPs Card certification

o Food Handler’s Card certification
