Job Summary
Spruce Tree Montessori School is accepting resumes for the position of School Chef. Duties include planning, preparing, and serving lunch (approximately 30 servings) each school day. Provide sound educational leadership and guidance to students in the kitchen and classrooms where assigned; apply the Montessori philosophy to preparation and planning to the best of your ability. Plan daily snack and lunch menus, purchase ingredients and make, bake, and/or prepare daily snack and lunch, managing the storage and waste of food. Manage the school kitchen, including organization and daily cleaning. Report on the status of the lunch program, propose suggestions, and think critically about efficiency and budget of the program. Serve as an educational assistant when needed; including mentorship/tutoring/guiding students, and assist with making materials, preparing crafts/activities, organizing supplies, and cleaning up after activities.
