Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Utility Supervisor-Water Distribution.The Utility Supervisor - Distribution reports to Water Distribution Superintendent. The primary function of this position is to perform supervisory level activities in support of maintenance and operations activities and directives in assigned area of responsibility. The Water Distribution supervisor is assigned to the Water Distribution section. The supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance and repair of the Town's Water Distribution System underground infrastructure, including fire hydrants, system valves and related equipment. Additional responsibilities include supervising staff; managing day-to-day operations and activities; participating in the development of unit goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; managing inventory; resolving complex customer complaints; and overseeing regulatory compliance. Supervisors oversee staff, which includes conducting performance evaluations; coordinating training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.Ideal candidates for the position are experienced in the maintenance and operation of municipal or equivalent water distribution systems. They are skilled at communicating and coordinating with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization to accomplish work objectives. Additionally, they work to mentor and develop the work crews they supervise, create a positive work environment, and manage for performance and accountability. They possess a high level of technical competency and are adept at working within various utility and other information management systems.This position is currently working in a hybrid environment, with partial remote work. High School Diploma or GED.
1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school.
5 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of underground water distribution systems.
2 years of lead or supervisory experience.
2 years of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) used for water system infrastructure.
Grade IV Water Distribution Operator Certification at the time of hire.
Arizona Class D Driver's License.
Combination of training, education and experience equivalent to the minimum qualifications listed above may be considered.LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
Grade IV Water Distribution from ADEQ at time of hire (equivalent certification from another state through reciprocity with Arizona at application submission date and certification of reciprocity must be obtained within 3 months of hire.).
Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Certificate (HAZWOPER).
Arizona Class D Driver's License.
