The AECOM Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our Geo-Civil team. In this role, there is opportunity to grow technical and non-technical skills alongside a team of seasoned professionals while being given ownership that will stretch your potential.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined proceduresProposes approach to solve new problems encountered and identifies discrepancies in resultsProvides guidance to entry level engineersPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervisionUndertake preliminary and detailed design activitiesEnsure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standardsPrepare engineering related calculations and create estimatesReview of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracyPrepare technical memoranda, preliminary, detailed design reports, and technical specificationsUtilize AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis to prepare design models, drawings, plans, sections, details, profiles/sections, and develop visual aidsWork under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team memberOversee and direct data collection and analysis activitiesDevelop engineering design skills through periodic field experience. This may include construction support, site inspections, and geotechnical investigationsProvide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditionsWork as part of a team to complete assignments
