Job Purpose

Based remotely in the U.S., the Deal Desk Manager will primarily focus on Canada, with additional inter-regional support, as needed, while partnering as a trusted advisor with Veeam’s sales, renewal, finance, legal, and channel teams, as well as with Senior Management throughout the Non-Standard Quotation (NSQ) deal process. The Deal Desk Manager will be responsible for driving and facilitating review of Non-Standard Deals, based on a holistic picture and communication with all teams involved. The Deal Manager will help optimizing commercial, technical, financial, as well as contractual terms.

  • Responsible for assisting both the channel and direct Sales teams with the accuracy of non- standard pricing, licensing and related policies/procedures around Veeam Sales process for Sales transactions
  • Be a valued business partner for sales, legal, finance, renewals and Senior management to ensure necessary cross-functional alignment
  • Work with sales leadership to maximize margins and manage discount levels through a structured approval process
  • Maintain and train sales teams on how to use various sales tools, such as Non-Standard-Quoting Tool (NSQ) and Frame Discount Agreements.
  • Handles day-to-day transactional deal non-standard pricing requests and ensures compliance with internal standards and policies
  • Develop relevant cross-functional relationships to understand products, competition, and the competitive market
  • Enable an informed decision making of Veeam’s Senior Management of large and complex deals
  • Maintain reports and data on discounting trends and present it to sales management per request
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Three years minimum relevant working experience in deal desk or finance, sales or sales operations in technology or comparable fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent (a combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good judgement
  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly within a time pressured, fast paced, and constantly evolving environment demanding precise and quick decision-making.
  • Strong business acumen, combined with a detail-and results oriented approach and ability to achieve results, while focusing on customer requirements and business success, thriving for commercially beneficial outcomes.
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and analytical, consider wider geographic impact of action
  • Proficiency with Sales Force and Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel
