Summary The Energy Innovation Analyst, Sr. on the Customer to Grid Solutions Reporting & Analytics team is responsible for the analysis and reporting of various customer programs and technologies mainly involving solar and energy storage/batteries. They compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports and assist in the development of regulatory compliance reports for the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). Also responsible for responding to a variety of data requests whether from internal or external stakeholders. Main Responsibilities Include:
Complete various monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to renewable generation / distributed generation and various customer programs and technologies such as solar and energy storage/batteries.
Assist with the completion of regulatory compliance reports for the ACC including the annual Renewable Energy Standard (RES) Compliance Reports and Implementation Plans, and the Demand Side Management (DSM) Annual Progress Reports and Implementation Plans.
Assist with the completion of the renewable related sections of various financial reports including the 10-Q/10-K and Investor Relations reports as well as the Corporate Responsibility Report.
Assist with managing the RES and DSM budgets.
Respond promptly to assigned data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Build and maintain various Power BI reports for technologies and programs throughout C2GS.
Act as backup and peer check work completed by peer analyst(s).
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience in the technology, power and/or natural gas sectors with an understanding of regulatory, technical and business issues impacting the industry.
In lieu of Bachelor's degree, High School/GED plus 9 years directly related experience in the technology, power and/or natural gas sectors with an understanding of regulatory, technical and business issues impacting the industry including renewables, distributed energy and grid technologies.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of one or more emerging energy technologies and related business models, such as solar, energy storage, electric vehicles, energy management software platforms etc.
Experience collecting and analyzing data of medium to high complexity with multiple correlations and variables.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and critical thinking a must
History of working with and analyzing large datasets
Ability to independently problem solve and make correlations between medium to complex datasets
Ability to appropriately prioritize competing demands
Excellent collaboration and communications skills
Strong focus on high level of customer service and communication to the business areas C2GS supports
PowerBI and SQL experience a plus
Major Accountabilities 1) Manage standard Energy Innovation related projects, both directly and through collaboration with other internal and external groups through effective research, data and trend analysis.2) Research and understand relevant technology trends and emerging business models, including early stage developments.3) Prepare regular business updates on industry trends, emerging technologies and technology-enabled business models, focusing on the potential opportunities and threats for the Company.4) Develop analytical and technical capabilities and expertise in areas including: distributed generation, energy storage and smart grid technologies, regulatory and policy issues.5) Work closely with other business unit teams to assess technology-driven business opportunities, and build business cases for handling of the most impactful technologies6) Provide support and expertise in forecasting the business impacts of emerging technologies, and ensure these perspectives are factored into business case development.7) Effectively interface and resolve project issues with departmental staff, other departments, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.8) Maintain and foster business relationships with business units and vendors, participating in negotiations and evaluations to identify potential issues and risks.9) Participate, as Company representative in various forums, committees and working groups dealing with various Energy Innovation technical, policy and regulatory issues.10) Demonstrates a continuous learning mindset and knowledge of pilot and proof of concept goals and processes.
