We are excited with all that the future holds for our industry, planet, and communities.Ameresco is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work in our Phoenix, AZ office.In this role, you will apply your design expertise on challenging projects and mentor junior engineers. You'll work with one of the nation’s top Energy Services Companies, gaining expertise and advancing your career.Responsibilities:

Provide discipline-specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software, e.g. ETAP, SKM); and other related design services including coordination with other disciplines (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of the Director of Central Utility Systems.

Represent Ameresco while interacting with customers, and work closely with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.).

Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, telephone, and computer network systems.

Design medium and low voltage electrical generation and distribution systems.

Develop appropriate system concepts, perform calculations, layout, sizing, selections, specifications, and coordination.

Perform site investigations of existing electrical systems for evaluation or to inspect work in progress/completed.

Communicate effectively and coordinate/meet with project teams, senior staff members, project managers, and clients.

Act as Lead Engineer on specific projects, manage and mentor junior level department engineers in developing contract documents, cost estimates, technical specifications, and other relevant documents.

Manage project timelines and provide team-wide updates.

Process RFIs, submittals, and design revisions.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the MEP field including experience designing power plants.

Ability to review confidential US security information.

Current Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Additional Qualifications:

Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit/BIM.

Proficient in design and calculation software (ETAP, SKM); MS Office.

Thorough understanding of applicable codes.

Ability to travel as required.

Experience working in an Engineering and/or Architectural/Engineering consulting firm strongly desired.

Leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills for large-scale projects required.

Experience working on Federal projects is a plus.
