With our combined resources CommonSpirit is committed to building healthy communities advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable and innovating how and where healing can happen both inside our hospitals and out in the community.ResponsibilitiesThis is a remote position.SummaryThe System Director Acute Physician Contracts coordinates and leads contracting processes, standards, and ongoing implementation of hospital based physician vendor and independent provider contracts and a Vendor Management Software (VMS) in coordination with CommonSpirit division, market, hospital, and physician enterprise (medical group) medical, nursing, and operational leadership. Hospital based physician services includes a multitude of specialties and subspecialties. This leader provides support to CommonSpirit leaders related to outsourced hospital-based physician services provided for clinical coverage through Professional Service Agreements (PSAs).The Director is accountable for the administration and organization of contracts, contract standards, contract measures, and financial and clinical impact of contracts. This shall include performance metrics, volume and service drivers, regulatory compliance, annual operating budget impact, operational and quality performance monitoring, and assisting with other system initiatives. The primary focus is compliance for hospital based physician vendor contracts. Working collaboratively with leadership for employed hospital-based groups may be included from time to time.This leader provides leadership and vision to elevate the operational and programmatic performance of hospital-based physician vendor services. Building effective partnerships with key stakeholders is integral to success in this role.Key Responsibilities

Implementing and maintaining a Vendor Management System (VMS), as well as collaborating with legal services and key operational and clinical leaders, on the standards and success (or opportunities) of hospital based physician agreements will be a key purpose of this role.

Works closely with Physician Enterprise leadership for necessary connection points where there are hospital based vendor PSAs and employment arrangements related to key metrics of success.

A deep understanding of hospital based physician vendor PSAs with third parties, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), program evaluation, Fair Market Value concepts, financial analysis and subsidy calculation, contract terms and subsidy negotiation, and performance metrics.

Assist hospitals and leaders with the evaluation and comparisons of various options, taking into account their cost-effectiveness, staffing models, and commitment to quality and performance improvement.

Work closely with legal team for contract renewals and finalization, with a focus on implementing CommonSpirit standard business terms.

Works collaboratively with other national, divisional, and hospital leaders to achieve the desired outcomes.

Performs workflow diagnostics, measures clinical and business outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement, fosters cross-department collaboration.

Working with CommonSpirit leaders to identify, develop, and implement program goals, metrics, and strategies for improved operations and optimized cost of services.

Ensures alignment of program with CommonSpirit Health Strategic Vision and outcome metrics.

Oversees the evaluation, performance monitoring activities, and implementation strategies.

Independently exercises decision making and judgement in identifying, evaluating, and implementing operational processes, workflows, and system structures.

Coordinates with key stakeholder leaders to ensure reports are developed and maintained based on business needs. Organizes and leads various group, which could include user groups, monthly meetings and planning sessions.

Forges relationships with external and internal stakeholders to develop national best practice solutions.

Leads complex vendor contracting arrangements, initiatives, and programs to include evaluation and performance monitoring activities and implementation strategies across each hospital-based vendor contract.

Ensures excellent communication with key stakeholders related to programs progress, successes, and barriers.

Provides consultation and supports Divisional leadership in the development of Division-specific strategies.

Promotes teamwork and shares information among other related initiatives . Deliver change and improvements through influence and collaboration. Leads projects and manages the life cycle of program/project initiatives and integration strategies.

Stays abreast of new developments through building and maintaining networks. Serves as a connector of experts and key partners to address needs and development of the Clinical Institutes and enhance capacity and scalability of initiatives.

Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher in healthcare discipline required

Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience, with 5 years in a leadership role

Experience in managing hospital based contract services

Experience in a highly matrixed working environment and working across large geographic distribution

Detailed oriented and able to work across multiple priorities simultaneously

Extensive experience working remotely

Pay Range$59.53 - $86.32 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
