Boutique meal delivery service and corporate catering company with growth potential is seeking a prep/sous chef & kitchen assistant. We are looking for someone to GROW WITH US. There is potential here if you show you are willing to jump in, work hard, and are passionate about food. This is a great position for someone who loves food but doesn't love typical restaurant hours (evenings) or the high stress on the line.
Friday to Monday work schedule
Fridays 10am-2pm (prep sous chef work)
Saturday: 3-4 hours (shopping/procuring/organizing ingredients) (flexible on start times, current role starts at 10am typically)
Sunday: 5 hours (kitchen prep) (9am-2pm)
Monday: 8 hours (kitchen prep/cooking/cleaning/packing orders) (7am-3pm/4pm)
there is NO flexibility to the days, if you cannot work these days please do not apply
Role: Food prep, sous chef, line cook, cooking, shopping/errands, packaging orders, working with owner on ideas and nutrition, cleaning up and organization on Monday's before deliveries go out. Also, potential for outside of the kitchen on the computer and sourcing ingredients.
Pay Rate $20-$23 an hour based on experience with room for additional hourly pay as we grow. Gas stipend on your sourcing time (Saturdays)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We’re looking for someone with sous chef or line cook and heavy kitchen prep experience! Will also include: Shopping, organizing, and running errands. Eventually assisting in procuring high quality, local ingredients working directly with owner to learn the process of this.
Inventory organization (worked into the Saturday shift about 20 minutes) helping to keep our dry storage and cooler organized and ready for prep day
Prep chef work: prepping ingredients (vegetable heavy), cooking, building out meals, and input in creative decisions on meals. Bonus if you have great knife skills, can grill, roast, boil, broil, bake or generally love to cook.
Assisting in putting together orders for our clients
Other standard kitchen tasks; washing dishes, cleaning, sweeping, wiping counters, cleaning griddle and grill and flattops to end the Monday shift.
Event work (catering events or on site private chef gigs) events 3-4 Fridays a month day time cooking

Has an appreciation for ingredients & the culinary world and cares about the food you put out and the job you do.
OTHER NEEDS:
You MUST have a vehicle, that runs properly consistently, you have a driver's license and you have insurance on your vehicle
You MUST have a cell phone that works and is turned on for us to reach you during your time working
You MUST be able to lift up to 40-50 pounds, carry kitchen equipment and utilize commercial kitchen equipment
