Job Title: Landscape Supply Office & Retail Associate Position Type: Full-time
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team. This dual-role position is the first point of contact for many clients, requiring a mix of excellent customer service, administrative efficiency, and a willingness to assist with yard operations. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about landscaping products or eager to learn, and comfortable working in both an office and an outdoor retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail & Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selection (e.g., soil, mulch, gravel, pavers) based on their project needs.
Provide expert advice on products, general landscaping solutions, and best practices.
Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system (cash, credit, etc.).
Answer phones, manage client inquiries, and respond to emails regarding products, pricing, and deliveries.
Address customer concerns or complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Maintain the store/showroom's cleanliness, organization, and visual displays.
Office & Administrative Support:
Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and managing documentation.
Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking stock levels and processing incoming/outgoing shipments.
Coordinate and schedule customer deliveries with yard staff and drivers.
Prepare project proposals, process invoices, and assist with billing and payment collections as needed.
Maintain accurate customer records and mailing lists in the company's system (e.g., CRM or an online catalog system).
Yard & Operations Support:
Assist with loading customer vehicles with products, sometimes using equipment (training provided if necessary).
Ensure the yard and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for both staff and customers.
Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications:
Previous retail, customer service, or office administration experience preferred.
Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and point-of-sale (POS) software.
Knowledge of or interest in landscaping, gardening, or outdoor design is a plus.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina: Must be able to stand for extended periods, walk across uneven terrain in various weather conditions
Flexibility to work occasional weekends and extended hours during peak season is often required.
