Role Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented, reliable Ops Technicians / Production Assistants to support live broadcasts, production, commercial editing, and daily station operations. Positions are available for both Full-Time and Part-Time.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys media production, thrives in live environments, and wants hands-on experience in radio operations and audio engineering.

Sample Work Shifts

(Shifts vary depending on programming and sports schedules)

Weekdays: 12pm – 8pm

Weekends: 7am – 2pm or 1pm – 8pm

All work is on-site at our Phoenix location.

Key Responsibilities

Live & Recorded Broadcast Operations

Run the audio board for live and recorded shows

Operate live sporting events such as football and basketball games

Run live political events (speeches, breaking news coverage, etc.)

Answer listener phone calls and support on-air hosts

Production & Editing

Record, edit, and produce commercials, interviews, and shows

Edit pre-produced shows and interviews

Create, edit, and upload podcasts

Load and schedule audio content into station systems

On-Air Reporting & Updates

Deliver short on-air reads (e.g., traffic, business, financial update reports)

Monitor reporting sources, pull updates, and create audio reports using templates

Additional Support

Assist with voiceover work (when needed)

Handle station paperwork, affidavits, internal reporting, and logs

Attend staff meetings

Support social media posting, website updates, and promotional tasks (as needed)

Qualifications

Required:

Technical proficiency with audio boards (live + studio) or similar equipment

Ability to record, edit, and produce audio

Familiarity with audio editing software and production workflows

Strong computer skills (Windows, Internet, Microsoft Office)

Clear communication skills — both written and verbal

Organized, dependable, and a positive team player

Ability to work within company policies and procedures

Pass a drug test and background check

Preferred (not required):

Prior radio experience OR experience in related technical/audio fields

Video editing or social media experience

Broadcasting school or college degree

A reliable car, insurance, and driver’s license are preferred but not required.

Compensation

Up to $17 - $20 per hour.

Final hourly rate will be based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal and external market benchmarks.
