Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic and Welder to join our team. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welding techniques, as well as diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery on site, or in the field. The job is a mix of these two skills, as we are a heavy equipment repair facility. This is a full-time position with competitive pay, 90 day probationary period as W9 sub-contractor, then brought onto payroll.
General Skills Preferred:
- Proven experience as a Mechanic and Welder, or similar role
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs of equipment
- Replace or repair faulty parts, tighten bolts, change fluids, and lubricate machinery
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and provide technical advice to other employees
- Perform scheduled maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including construction and agricultural machinery4.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and make repairs as necessary
- Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a welding and heavy machinery environment
