Mechanical Engineer

Vestcom, an Avery Dennison Company, designs and builds its own converting and robotic equipment that supports the manufacture and production of our high-quality retail labeling and pricing solutions  We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Machine Group.  This role is responsible for the design, improvement, and support of our custom manufacturing and automation systems used across Vestcom’s production network This position requires demonstrated mechanical engineering expertise and independent judgment in solving moderately to highly complex design and process challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing/production, and maintenance to optimize performance, ensure safety compliance, and enable scalability in production.Key Areas of Responsibility:Overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.Designing new devices, components, and systems, using CAD software to create models, and redesigning existing products to improve efficiency or resolve issues.Developing and testing prototypes to evaluate performance and making necessary design adjustments based on test results.Supervising the manufacturing process to ensure designs are produced according to specifications and quality standards. Work cross-functionally in teams, including manual machining, CNC, and assemblyDevelop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including blueprints, technical drawings, test procedures, and reports for various stakeholders.
