Theyare responsible forconducting assessments,providingtherapy, and supporting patients in their recovery journey. Additionally, theyprovideconsultation and training to facility personnel to promote a better understanding of mental health issues and how to effectively support patients in their care.Key Responsibilities

Provide mental health services and conduct regular mental health checks and rounds with patients under the direction of a licensed Mental Health Professionalin accordance withrelevant professional organizations and state guidelines.

Providepsycho-social-educational programming and activities for groups and individuals to improve the social, cognitive, problem-solving, and daily living skills of incarcerated patients.

Triage mental healthconcerns ofincarcerated patients andprovideconsultation services as assigned.

Participate inreleasecontinuity of care planning for patients,trainstaff in human behavior and mental health issues, andmaintainpatient confidentiality while interrelating effectively with patients, staff, and outside support agencies.

Comply with employee standards of the facility, apply principles of critical thinking, sound judgment, and work under stress on a regular basis.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation

Mustpossessa bachelor’s degree in mental health/social science field from an accredited college or university. (Professional experience,trainingsand applicable certifications may be considered in lieu of educational requirements on acase-by-casebasis.)

Experience

Coursework and professional experience thatindicatesknowledge of working in a correctional setting, mental health interventions, and identification of mental health issues, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

MustmaintainCPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract.
